About Marisa (she/her)
Soprano and Voice Teacher
American soprano Marisa McCollough Lentz has been praised for her sparkling coloratura, upper extension, and intelligent and outstanding musicianship. She has performed opera, oratorio, and recital in the mid-Atlanic region and Italy.
Marisa has maintained a full voice studio in Northern Virginia for 13 years. Her students are often chosen as leads in their school musicals (including Mabel, Pirates of Penzance; Cosette, Les Misérables) and participate in elite choruses (including Washington Children’s Chorus, Strathmore Concert Chorus and Treble Chorus, National Honor Choir, National Children’s Choir, Regional Honor Choir, and All-Virginia Honor Choir). Her students have also attended the Virginia Summer Residential Governor’s School (Voice) and the Virginia Governor’s School for Performing and Visual Arts, Northwest. Marisa"s students have been accepted into some of the most elite college music programs on the East Coast, including The Eastman School of Music, Peabody Conservatory, Manhattan School of Music, and William and Mary.
Marisa earned her Master of Music from Shenandoah Conservatory, and her Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Penn State University. Marisa is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).
